Mithali Raj Indian Women Cricket Team captain is one of the greatest battlers on the field. She is the only player today who has scored the 7 consecutive 50s runs in ODI. Mithali Raj is one of the captains that have lead the team in ICC ODI World Cup final twice in 2017 and 2005.

Early Age:

Mithali Raj was born on 03, December 1982 in Jodhpur. Her ancestral origin is from Tamil and her father belongs to the Indian Air Force. She started taking interest in cricket from the age of 10. And by 17 she was in Indian cricket women’s team. She is commonly called as “Raj”.




Indian Cricket Team Career:

Mithali Raj getting the awardShe made her debut in 1999 in Milton Keynes against Ireland, where she scored 114 runs. Raj made her test debut in 2001-02 against South Africa in Lucknow. She leads the team for 2005 Women’s Cricket World Cup where they lost to Australia. Raj has been a part time leg breaker bowler with the batting leader as well. She is a recipient of Arjun award and Padam Shri in 2003 and 2015. If we just check out her recent achievement in July 2017 she became one of the first players to score 6000, runs in ODI. In 2017 the Indian women cricket team under her guidance reached the final but lost to England just by 9 runs.
